A-Line

Happy New Year!! I hope you all had a great holiday! Here goes my first post of the year!

I have always despised A-Line skirts. I felt like I dont look good in them but I still try them on anyways. To my surprise I now have one A-line skirt in my closet and its from Forever21. When I tried it on I knew I had to have it. The color is burgundy red which is one of the colors I like when picking out clothes. I also love the fact that its cloth is (not sure what the term is) its kind of suede ish.

Paired with my Maroon Top which I bought for work. I just wanted to pop on something around the same shades.

Ice Skating and A Birthday Dinner

On Phil's (my boyfriend) birthday he wanted to Ice Skate. Imagine my frustration coming up with an outfit that would be Ice Skating appropriate and Birthday Dinner apropos.

Ive always imagined wearing pants on my first ice skating experience but I dont want to wear jeans to a birthday dinner. So I came up with a Jumpsuit. It gives the coverage that jeans can offer although the cloth is a bit thin. Wore something red and it was very fitting since I had this red blazer lying around the corner which I havent used yet. Now I look semi formal and semi casual.

But to be perfectly honest, the blazer did help from the cold inside the skating rink, although it didnt help me from moving around since I am a beginner. The jumpsuit was too thin that when I fell buttfirst it became damp from the ice hahaha

Safe to say my outfit failed me during ice skating! Haha
What would you have worn?

Squash For Hue

Now, you might be wondering what's up with my title. Actually its just a mash up of the brands that I am wearing in this post! Harharhar

I got my top at Squash Clothing, Tulle Skirt at For Me (One of the gems I found at their SALE rack!), and my Red Studded (Killer) Flats at Hue Manila. It's crazy cause my boyfriend got a small wound on his knee because of these studs! Good to know though that I actually have a secret weapon when the situation arises! Hahaha

Wore this outfit running some errands and a client meeting. In one of the photos above you can see that I was holding a transparent umbrella, I'm actually selling them (Shameless plug!!!) You can check @coleensemblesbycoleen on IG for more items :)

Also, say hello to my really cute beachkin bag! Ive always wanted to get one! This is actually my October bag. I have a rule of wearing one bag per month. So I change bags monthly! This is to avoid changing bags too often and misplacing some of my important stuff. Haha.

Scallops on my Blazer

Do you ever remember the scallop trend? Where there were scalloped shorts, dresses and tops. This is one of the few things that I found at Pop District Bazaar: a scalloped blazer. Wore this outfit to run some errands with the beau on a Saturday.

Paired with my blue pleated top which by the way, I got them at Blogger's United in Manila, last December (Filling in the gaps: I went there for work. Just for a week and all I can say is the traffic is CRAZYYYY!  I was able to go to Tagaytay as well and saw the breathtaking view of Taal Lake. Sighs. It was very dreamy. ).

Can you guess which Blogger I got this top from? Vern and Verniece! I got a lot from their booth! Ive been a reader and a follower ever since. They had individual blogs back then. I love and envy their relationship as sisters. I also love that even though they look like theyre one package, they still have their individual style and personality. I love Verniece's love for pink, tulle, pearls and furrrr (slight) and everything girly! Bonus points for her figure skating! I love Vern's style also, chic and edgy.

Very much thankful for that Manila trip!

To end my OOTD, I opted to wear shorts because I have a rule for myself to wear NON work clothes when I dont have work. So I can take a break from wearing business attires. Sometimes, midi skirts can be tiring too! Hahaha! Took out my oxford shoes for a spin as well. Fun Fact: Ive always wanted some oxfords but I didnt like the fact that they look very masculine. So this is the perfect pair for me. It has lace insets which brings out the girly girl in me!
